A little more room to be human.A place to learn about yourself, practice being in relationship, and do some hard things with people alongside you.
For adults, kids, and the people who care for them. Online and at the farm.
A little more room to be human
Maybe you’ve become very good at being what everyone needs. Maybe you’re trying to parent differently, find your footing, or keep loving your work without losing yourself in it.
Here, we practice asking for what we need, making choices, hearing each other, and finding a way back when things get hard.
There’s room to struggle, disagree, and make mistakes. We also practice taking responsibility for how we affect one another.

Explore embodied practiceHi. I’m Sara.
My husband, Matt, and I built Discovery Horse, then Dandelion: a farm, a community, and a way of working alongside children, families, and the people supporting them.
Years of that work—including building and running our Medicaid-funded program—gave us a lot of experience with what helps people participate, connect, and find their voice. Changes in Medicaid disrupted the business we built. We’re bringing what we learned into this next chapter.
We have extensive experience with neurodivergent children and families. We pay attention to pace, energy, communication, and what helps each person take part.
I bring expertise. You bring authority over your own life. Both belong here.
I’m very good at making room for other people to be imperfect. Publishing my own website? Apparently that’s my homework.
What we’re growing
School of Self is growing toward ongoing membership, with places for adults and kids to build relationships, return, and keep learning together.
A path for adults
The vision is an ongoing adult practice community: people who get to know one another, offer honest feedback, work through differences, and make room for the next attempt.
You can begin now with coaching, an embodied experience, or a free Community Conversation.
Come meet usA path for kids
Youth sessions can be a place to begin. As the community develops, Friendship Circles will offer small, thoughtfully formed groups where children can practice being together.
We’ll pay attention to the relationships and support that help each child participate as those groups take shape.

Courageous visibility
Sometimes courage looks like saying what you actually think. Asking for help. Letting someone see that you’re unsure. Staying in a conversation when your first instinct is to disappear—or saying no and letting that no be known.
At School of Self, we practice being in relationship without leaving ourselves behind. Your preferences, questions, boundaries, and whole human self belong in the room.
You choose what you share. We can slow down, make room for the discomfort, and get curious about what helps you participate. Being visible doesn’t mean being available for everything.
Online, that includes meeting with cameras on. In person, it might mean naming what you want, asking for something different, or allowing yourself to be a beginner with someone alongside you.
Showing up gives us something real to work with. You can begin before you feel confident.
Embodied Practice
Sometimes you learn something about yourself by being in an experience: making a choice, meeting a horse, noticing what happens in a group, or giving yourself time to pause.
We offer different ways to do that, with room to notice what happens and reflect together.
